Arizona Couple Survives After Car Crashes Into Living Room

car crash

An Arizona couple and their four dogs miraculously survived a terrifying ordeal when a Ford Mustang crashed into their living room just as they were preparing to have dinner. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on a Friday night in Phoenix, leaving Marcus Holmberg and Sabrina Rivera with cuts and minor injuries, according to the Phoenix police.

Holmberg and Rivera captured the shocking moment on video as the Mustang plowed through the exterior wall, engulfing the room in a cloud of dust and debris. Describing the impact, Holmberg likened it to a bomb going off, emphasizing the sudden and explosive nature of the crash.

Fortunately, three of the couple's four dogs were present in the living room during the incident. Holmberg later reassured concerned friends and family through social media that all their dogs were safe, although they were understandably shaken and sore.

Rivera mentioned that while the dogs appeared to have escaped physical harm, they would likely require a vet visit once the couple could afford it. The focus now shifts to repairing the extensive damage caused to their home, with Rivera lamenting that the incident had left everything in ruins.

Holmberg revealed on social media that the crash had shifted their entire home off its foundation, estimating repair costs to be as high as $30,000. Meanwhile, authorities disclosed that an 18-year-old suspect, believed to be responsible for the crash, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Further details about the driver were not immediately available.
