Argylle Review: Matthew Vaughn’s Meta Spy Comedy Is A Great Start For Franchise And Fandom Alike

Bryce Dallas Howard and Samuel L. Jackson stand together at a desk in Argylle.

The world of big screen espionage adventures has the usual tentpoles – most notably the James Bond and Mission: Impossible movies – that stand as time-tested examples of what the genre does best. And then there are the newer kids, like director Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman franchise, that try to put a bold and bawdy spin on that sort of picture in R-rated fashion.
