The Boston Celtics currently sit atop the Eastern Conference. They have defeated the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks in recent weeks. Furthermore, the Orlando Magic have surged up to second in the Eastern Conference and appear to have Boston’s number. Yet, the Bucks are still considered the Celtics’ biggest threat.
The superstar duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard is fearsome. Factor in the floor spacing of Khris Middleton and the rim protection from Brook Lopez, and it’s easy to see why Milwaukee is considered to be a contending team in the East. Yet, Boston’s depth and elite top-8 rotation could be too much for the Bucks to handle.
In a recent episode of CLNS Media’s “The Garden Report,” Bobby Manning and Josue Pavon discuss whether Milwaukee is legitimately Boston’s biggest threat.
The Eastern Conference is improving every year. Multiple young teams are waiting for internal developments to take place so they can leap into contention. And some of the usual suspects are looking at ways to tweak their rotation before the February 8 trade deadline.
However, regardless of how things shake out, the Bucks will be there or thereabouts once the postseason begins, and they won’t be an easy out for the Celtics or any other team.
