NEW DELHI: Cricket in India is going to get revolutionised further with the arrival of one-of-its-kind 'hybrid pitch' — a pitch that combines natural turf with synthetic fibres. It promises enhanced durability and reduces the strain on groundstaff in their efforts to maintain quality playing conditions.
The first one of these has been put in place at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, and was unveiled to the public on Monday. The 'hybrid pitch' at the HPCA Stadium has been developed in collaboration with SIS Pitches — a company that designs, constructs and supplies hybrid and synthetic cricket pitches.
