FC Luzern boss Mario Frick has admitted captain Ardon Jashari will leave the club this summer with Celtic reportedly leading the chase.
The 20-year-old has been attracting interest from across Europe after the midfielder was a surprise inclusion in the Switzerland squad taken to the World Cup, with the Scottish Premiership champions and Porto touted as the leading contenders to land the highly-rated prospect this summer - with a £7million price tag floated. Frick admits he expects the club to lose their key man this summer after talks with the player, where he has stated he wants to move to a higher level.
Swiss outlet Luzerner Zeitung report that the Champions League is the ultimate aim for the Jashari when weighing up his options this summer. Asked about reported interest from Celtic and Porto, Frick said: “We have to be realistic.
“It always depends on the type (of club he joins). If he takes the next step, he will experience tougher competition than here in Luzern. Then he will have to use his elbows. But he came through a good school in Luzern.”
