Arctic Monkeys cancel Marlay Park gig in Dublin due to illness

Arctic Monkeys Marlay Park Dublin Alex Turner Sheffield

Rock group Arctic Monkeys have been forced to cancel their concert at Marlay Park in Dublin tomorrow due to illness.

Lead singer Alex Turner has been diagnosed with acute laryngitis and is under doctor's orders to rest his voice, meaning he will not be well enough to perform at Marlay Park on Tuesday evening.

The Sheffield band apologised for disappointing their Irish fans with the cancellation of their gig, which would have been their first on Irish soil since the release of their seventh studio album, The Car.
