Arctic Monkeys have cancelled a gig just days before they're due to headline Glastonbury festival later this week.
Refunds are to be issued for the band's show at Marlay Park in Dublin on Tuesday, June 20, after it was cancelled due to frontman Alex Turner falling ill. In a statement released via their social media channels, the band said they were 'extremely sorry' to be cancelling the show.
The statement continued: "Alex is suffering from acute laryngitis, and following medical advice, has been ordered to rest.” Alex and the band apologise for the huge disappointment this will inevitably cause to all their Irish fans.”

Concert-goers were told that full refunds will be credited back to the ticket purchaser's account by Ticketmaster within the next six working days.
It comes in the middle of the Sheffield four-piece's world tour, following a three-night stint at the Emirates stadium in London. The band, who released latest album The Car last year, are also scheduled to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Friday night, June 23.
According to the NHS, laryngitis usually goes away on its own after one to two weeks. It can come on 'suddenly' and is usually worse within the first three days.
The news has left fans wondering whether Arctic Monkeys will make their festival appearance or not. @TheGlastoThingy tweeted: "How long do you need to recover from laryngitis? Asking for a headliner" while @EventHotelsLtd commented: "Get well Soon Alex ... Like really soon #glastonbury2023".
@Glastopia said: "S***, that’s a bit worrying .. let’s hope they are resting up so they can do Glasto! #Glastonbury" and @gmbarnard22 asked: "be back for glasto i’m sure? right? right? right?????????????"
The band’s set is due to take place from 10.15pm to 11.45pm and will be broadcast live on the BBC. It will be the third time Arctic Monkeys headline Glastonbury, having performed their first headline slot in 2007, and their second a decade ago in 2013.
