Archie and Lilibet ‘highly unlikely’ to receive royal titles after Frogmore eviction drama

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two children - Archie and Lilibet - are not likely to receive a royal title from King Charles after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

This comes after reports surfaced that the King decided to move Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out in a bid to make way for Prince Andrew who will take over the property. The late Queen gifted Frogmore Cottage to Harry and Meghan in the months after their wedding back in 2018.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the news yesterday in a statement reading: “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage."

According to a royal expert, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, are now "highly unlikely" to receive royal titles following the King's decision to evict parents Prince Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage. Mr Fitzwilliams told the Express.co.uk: "It means Harry and Meghan’s children Archie and Lili are highly unlikely to be granted titles."

He also added that it would mean the couple, and their children's "visits to Britain are few".

Despite the fact the couple moved Stateside in 2020 after stepping down as working royals, the Palace maintained that Frogmore Cottage was their official residence in the UK, and the Sussexes used it as a base when they returned to Britain over the past few years.

While The Duke and Duchesses children did not receive Prince and Princess titles when they were born as they were great-grandchildren of the monarch. However that has changed following the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Charles has succeeded to the throne, meaning Archie and Lilibet are the grandchildren of the monarch.

The youngsters are now sixth and seventh in line to the throne, according to the official line of succession. The two children remain listed as "Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor" and "Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor" on the Royal Family's website.

After Archie was born in 2019, Harry and Meghan were given a title, Earl of Dumbarton, for their first son but chose against using it. The couple agreed that their first child would be known as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.s
