ARC Raiders have released Patch 1.4.0, bringing several important fixes and one of the funniest exploit solutions the game has seen so far. The update targets a long-running glitch that let players push themselves through locked doors to reach high-value loot rooms without using a keycard.
Embark Studios has addressed the issue in a way that feels more like a prank than a traditional fix. Instead of simply patching the clipping bug, it decided to punish anyone who forces their way into these rooms, but not in the way you’d think. Players who glitch inside will now be greeted by flamethrowers that instantly burn them down. These flamethrowers only disappear when the door is opened properly with a keycard, restoring the intended flow of the game.

- An exploit which allowed players to shoot faster which was achieved by swapping to a quick use item and back
- Spaceport’s Control Tower has also been altered, now blocking exterior access.
- An issue which caused low resolution textures in the Main Menu has been fixed
- Players can now longer push each other by jumping on each other’s backs.
- Lighting artifacts have also been addressed when entering maps.
- A bug which caused Raider voices to say the wrong dialogue has also been fixed.
Seeing how quickly Embark can roll out updates and address issues is excellent to see. Its approach to this exploit is also genuinely funny and a welcome change from the usual response of banning players for using a bug and abusing the game.
