Arc Raiders devs rush to fix duplication exploit, threaten "possible penalties" after infinite Trigger Nades rain from the sky as TheBurntPeanut shows the glitch to over 140,000 people

Arc Raiders Shared Watch event update.

Update: Well, that was fast – a little over three hours after the Arc Raiders 1.15.0 patch went live, Embark has now "pushed a hotfix to resolve the current duplication issue."

In a message shared in the official Discord server, community lead Ossen says: "We are still actively monitoring the situation to ensure we've covered all cases – should you encounter other duplication issues, please raise them to us in the bug report channel."

You don't need to download anything for this update, and Embark is "still investigating the full impact of the issue, and will be taking action based on the severity of the different cases as we complete our investigation." Players are thanked for reporting the bug, as well as "for being patient with us."

In a separate post on Twitter, Embark suggests that there may be consequences for those who took advantage of the dupe glitch. "Players who have duplicated excessive amounts of items will be subject to further review and possible penalties. Nothing beats earning your loot the hard way, now get back out there and stack those coins honestly!"

This isn't the first dupe glitch that Embark has been faced with – and subsequently fixed – since Arc Raiders' launch. However, this one in particular gained enormous traction overnight following streamer TheBurntPeanut (who has 1.8 million followers on Twitch and 1.53 million on YouTube at the time of writing) demonstrating it to his enormous audience. Views on his stream last night when he performed the exploit surpassed 138K on YouTube alone.

Needless to say, it wasn't exactly a fun situation for anyone trying to play fair, but at least the silver lining is that the devs clearly prioritized a fix since.

Original story:

A new Arc Raiders update is here, but despite a new event and more bug fixes being rolled out, players are disappointed that Embark hasn't fixed the shooter's ongoing duplication glitch. However, the devs are well aware of the issue, and are "actively working on a fix."

Arc Raiders update 1.15.0 is rolling out now, and introduces the Shared Watch event, which is set to run from now until February 24, offering "an opportunity to team up in the fight against the machines." The patch notes explain: "Players will earn merits from destroying, assisting and damaging ARC and earn rewards. No merits will be earned from PvP encounters. Bring a friend or bring a stranger, but above all, bring enough ammo to make sure the machines notice you first."

On top of that, the Cold Snap map condition is returning, and the Trailblazer Grenade is being tweaked, with its explosions no longer being able to deal damage through walls and it now set to deal "more damage to small enemies but less damage to bigger enemies such as the Leaper and Bastion." Some miscellaneous fixes have been rolled out for issues such as players not being able to "reconnect after disconnecting from a game."

What the list doesn't include is a fix – or even an acknowledgement – of the shooter's latest duplication glitch, and players aren't happy. "The patch this week was an absolute travesty with 'fixes' for miniscule problems," one on Reddit begins, noting that the "the dupe exploit is being used" to turn Stella Montis into an artillery "practice range."

They continue, noting that the "week 1 Patch was great and I thought this game was going to improve," but "now one completely game-breaking exploit is being used by 90% of the serious player base." The player adds: "Embark is dropping the ball like crazy."

Elsewhere, another writes: "No dupe fixes, no weapon balancing update. Lol, what's up with extraction game devs not being able to support their games properly?" Another comments: "Dupe glitch still not patched... Damn."

The same sentiment is being shared on Twitter. "Fix the duplication glitch! It's ruining the game," one says, while another comments: "Seriously no duplication glitch? Lobbies are currently warzones."

There is some good news though, as Embark is working on it, although no indication has been given on how long it'll take. "We are aware of the duplication issue and we are actively working on a fix," reads a message sent in the official Discord server by community lead Ossen.

In the meantime, Embark acknowledges in the latest patch notes that "some of you have noticed changes in past updates that didn't make it into the patch notes, thank you for flagging those and keeping us on our toes!"

The devs continue: "We've been building ARC Raiders for years, but we've only been live for a short while, and we're still growing into the rhythm (and discipline) of live operations. Making patch notes that are complete, accurate, and easy to follow is a muscle we're actively training.

"We're improving our internal process so fewer things slip through, and when something does, your reports help us catch it quickly and update the notes. Please keep letting us know when you spot something missing, it genuinely helps."
