The Arab League expressed on Monday its “full solidarity” with Bahrain and rejection of a European Parliament resolution on human rights in the kingdom.
In a statement, the Arab League said its general secretariat has observed over the years the development of the rights situation in Bahrain.
It has recorded several positive developments in the field. It also cited Bahrain’s support for the establishment of the Arab Court of Human Rights and signing of the Arab charter on human rights.
The League therefore, voiced its rejection of the politicization of rights issues and the biased position from which they are made. Such stances are aimed at launching constant attacks and criticism.
It said the positions were based on inaccurate information or without taking into consideration the developments on the ground, both in Bahrain and other Arab countries.
