Applicant deemed 'not up to it' launches second bid for city centre alcohol licence

Proposals have been made to open an off licence in Liverpool city centre by an applicant previously deemed ‘not up to it’.

In March, members of Liverpool Council ’s licensing and gambling sub-committee told Adam Sutton he had “not given the serious thought it deserves” when applying to open Baltic Bevies on Jamaica Street until 4am. Documents submitted to the committee reveal Mr Sutton has now applied for a second time to secure an alcohol licence at the same location, this time until 2am.

Mr Sutton’s proposal seeks to open an off licence that would open from 8am to midnight Monday to Thursday and until 2am Friday and Saturday. The licence seeks an additional seasonal variation to hours, including an hour extension for the start of British Summer Time, as well as an extension until 2am the following day where Christmas Eve and Boxing Day fall on a Monday to Thursday.
