Apple revives Jessica Chastain thriller shelved days after Charlie Kirk assassination

  • Apple TV has scheduled the release of the eight-part limited thriller series The Savant for spring 2027 after postponing it in September 2025.
  • The series was pulled from Apple TV's schedule three days before its premiere following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
  • Starring and executive produced by Jessica Chastain, the show follows an undercover investigator who infiltrates online hate groups to stop domestic extremists.
  • Reports indicated the delay was due to concerns regarding the show's subject matter and violent imagery shortly after Kirk's death.
  • Inspired by a 2019 Cosmopolitan profile, the series will premiere more than 18 months after its originally planned release date.
