Apple emergency bug fix for ‘zombie’ iPhone photos: Tech & Science Daily podcast

Apple has released an urgent security update after reports of a bug causing deleted iPhone and iPad photos to digitally resurrect themselves.

The iOS 17.5.1 patch comes after claims of a glitch where some device owners reported pictures reappearing on their Photos camera roll, apparently sometimes years after deletion.

Apple described the problem as “a rare issue” and blames “database corruption”.

Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong has issued a public apology after extreme turbulence hit a flight from Heathrow Airport to Singapore, leading to the death of a British man.

Geoff Kitchen, 73 from Bristol, suffered a suspected heart attack and seven other people aboard the Boeing 777 were seriously injured, with dozens more suffering minor wounds.
