Police in England have issued an appeal to Scots to keep an eye out for a 37-year-old man who failed to appear in court to answer charges relating to a cannabis farm.
Officers in Merseyside believe that Andrew Armstrong, 38, could be in Fife after fleeing from a mandated court appearance on drug charges. Armstrong was due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court in connection with the discovery of a drug plantation in Birkdale, Southport in 2017.
Merseyside Police issued an appeal to track him down in September last year, believing he had links to the local area. A further appeal was issued in February – and as of this week the force has received intel to suggest that he may have links north of the border.
Armstrong is one of several men wanted by Merseyside Police in connection with Operation Hunted, an ongoing exercise to track down absconders from justice who failed to appear for court hearings. He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with dark brown hair and green eyes.
An image was released of Armstrong showing him with short hair and a full beard. However, he may have changed his appearance.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Please share and help us find Andrew Armstrong, who detectives want to speak to in connection with a drugs offence. He has been circulated before but we still need any information to track him down.
"[He] has connections to Bootle and Southport in Sefton...[and] to the Fife area of Scotland."
