Animal welfare experts are appealing for a home for an old age pooch.
Alfie, is an 11-year-old Jack Russell Terrier currently staying at Dogs Trust West Calder.
His carers say he is a cheeky boy who adores being outside.
A spokeswoman said: “Alfie is a keen explorer who likes to visit new areas where he can sniff through leaves and bound through tall grass. He will happily potter around the garden for hours, finding the perfect sun-soaked spot to relax in.
“He enjoys the quiet life and will snuggle up on the sofa for a nap. A smart boy, he will show off his tricks, especially if it means he will get a tasty treat! While Alfie is an older dog, he is still very energetic and enjoys a game of tug or playing with his favourite squeaky toy.
“Alfie is an independent boy who needs his own space to relax in. He takes his time building friendships and would like his new family to visit him a few times at the centre before going home. Once he has formed a strong bond with someone, he is a friendly boy who enjoys spending time with those closest to him.”
