Apology from Carmelite Order as "serial abuser" rugby coach John McClean handed four year sentence

The Carmelite Order has issued a grovelling apology over the sickening sex abuse carried out by paedophile rugby coach John McClean during his time working at Terenure College.

The disgraced rugby coach has been handed a four year prison sentence for the sexual abuse of 22 boys at Terenure College over a 20-year period.

McClean (78) of Casimir Avenue, Harold's Cross, Dublin, is currently serving an eight-year sentence, for abusing 23 Terenure College pupils. That sentence was handed down in 2021.
