Democrat leader Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced that she opted to freeze her eggs as she decides her next political move, including the 2028 presidential election. “This is a choice that I am making to feel more in control of my life,” the 36-year-old Rep said on Instagram, adding that she was aware that she took a political risk in divulging these personal details on social media.

She said later on ABC's “This Week” on Sunday that she has not ruled out running for president or for the US Senate seat held by Democrats’ floor leader, Chuck Schumer of New York, in 2028. She explained that she wants to normalize conversations about what women face in their professional and personal lives, while also highlighting the policies of President Donald Trump’s administration.
The she posted more videos of the freezing process as she released a video of her unboxing the medicines and then taking an injection in the belly.
“In this political environment, where this administration is denying reproductive care to women across the country, from abortion rights to the ability to carry out a healthy pregnancy, I think it’s important for us as leaders to have these conversations,” she said.
AOC said she thought her fertility decision was 'bada**' and noted that men do not have to deal with it.
Ocasio-Cortez revealed that her insurance did not cover the process and she paid everything on her own. She explained that there are two parts of the costs: one part is for the medicine and the second is for the process and the clinic. AOC said she saved for a long time for the expenditure and it would cost her around $8K-$9K.

AOC got engaged to Riley Roberts in 2022 though their relationship has been long. They met as undergrads at Boston University. The couple started dating after becoming acquainted during a weekly debate event and remained together throughout their college careers, according to the biography Take Up Space: The Unprecedented AOC. While they ultimately broke up after graduation, they found their way back to each other several years later.
Roberts is from Arizona and he works in the marketing and web development field.
