Antony is determined to push through his move from Ajax to Manchester United this summer.
The Brazilian has been linked with a switch to the Premier League for several weeks as he eyes a reunion with Erik ten Hag, whom he has worked with in Amsterdam. United are looking to add more firepower to their forward line and the winger would be a strong signing.
Antony continues to put the pieces in place to force through the move. According to the Telegraph, agents for 4ComM, who look after the player's interests, are understood to be basing themselves in London, where United also have offices.
United have already seen bids knocked back for the Brazilian, the latest being over £65m. It could now take a bid in excess of £80m to convince Ajax to sell with the player himself having an active role in achieving an exit. The Dutch club are in a strong financial position and do not need to sell.
They've already offloaded Ryan Gravenberch and Sebastien Haller this summer, which puts them in a strong financial position. They also earned over £50m from the sale of Lisandro Martinez, who followed Ten Hag to Manchester this summer.
Antony has already refused to commit his future when asked by De Telegraaf: “No, to be perfectly honest, I can't. What I can say is that I want to come to the right decision with my family, business partners and Ajax, which is good for everyone. In the end, God determines my future. I am very happy at Ajax, I have a contract until the summer of 2025 and I will give everything for this beautiful club for every second.
"I wear the shirt with pride and from day one I feel at home. If we all decide that I will stay here, then I know that this is the best thing for me and the club. It’s not like I have to leave. Now I am focusing on playing football and have put all other matters in the hands of my agents and my brother. They will advise me on what is best.”
Current Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has been keen to remind his player that they can offer Champions League football, whilst United cannot. He said: "I understand Antony. But you play for Ajax. We are playing Champions League football. I don't think Man Utd are playing Champions League football.
He also added: "I want Antony to stay. I am assuming that the club will not sell him. The money that is being thrown around these days is crazy. But I would not find it okay if we sell another player. We are in a powerful position, financially."
