Antonio Valencia is set to return to Old Trafford later this month after becoming the latest former Manchester United player to sign up for their 'Legends of the North' charity game against Liverpool.
The former United captain, who made over 300 appearances for the club and won two Premier League titles, will be back in a United shirt for the charity game on Saturday, May 21. It will be the first time Valencia has played at Old Trafford since leaving the club in 2019, with the 36-year-old announcing his retirement last year.
Valencia becomes the latest player to be announced for United’s side, following on from a whole host of club legends. He joins the likes of Paul Scholes, Dimitar Berbatov, Nicky Butt, Jaap Stam, Patrice Evra and Dwight Yorke in signing up to take on their old rivals Liverpool.

But, it is also about raising money for Manchester United Foundation, which really helps to encourage and educate young people in communities across Greater Manchester.”
As well as playing at Old Trafford later this month, a return leg is set to follow on Merseyside at a later date. More star names are set to be announced for United in the build-up to this month’s clash, adding to the packed list of players already confirmed.
