Antonio Conte still has £94m Tottenham transfer budget to spend after £150m investment

Tottenham have already signed five players during this summer transfer window, with a sixth on the verge of being completed. Early free transfer moves for Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic were followed swiftly by deals for Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and the season-long loan of Clement Lenglet.

Djed Spence is set to be the sixth, with Spurs having agreed a fee and personal terms with Middlesbrough and the player himself. football.london understands a deal is set to be completed on Monday, with the finer details of the transfer being ironed out.

But Tottenham may not be done there. football.london reported at the start of the transfer window opened that Spurs were looking to make at least six new signings in key areas. they have done just that.

But should Antonio Conte want to bring in more players, he has the money available to do just that. Tottenham have been linked with a creative midfielder, with Christian Eriksen a possibility before he chose a move to Manchester United.

That could be an area Conte decides to work with managing director of football Fabio Paratici on to bolster his line-up even further before the new season begins in just under three weeks' time. If he does decide to do that, he could spend big money on another marquee signing.

That is because Spurs still have funds available from the £150million that owners ENIC pumped in when the transfer window opened. The major investment gave Paratici the money to spend to hand Conte the perfect squad to challenge at the top of the table next season.

Let's take a look at what's been spent in N17 and what's also been recouped.

Expenditure

Ivan Perisic - free

Fraser Forster - free

Richarlison - £50million (rising to £60million with add-ons)

Yves Bissouma £25million

Clement Lenglet - season-long loan

Djed Spence £12.5million (rising to £20million with add-ons)

Total: £87.5million (rising to £105million)

Income

Cameron Carter-Vickers - £6million (rising to £10million)

Steve Bergwijn - £25.8million (rising to £27.8million)

Total: £31.8million (rising to £37.8million)

Now if you say that the entirety of the £150million from ENIC was for transfers, then Tottenham have £62.5million of that left to spend this summer if they were to choose to do so, given the initial outlay on those players, not factoring in the add-ons, which will not have been paid yet of course. If you then factor in the departures, of which there are likely to be more too, Conte could seemingly still have a warchest of £94.3million to spend.

Spurs will be hoping to balance the squad further with more sales. The likes of Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso were left at home while the rest of the squad went on a pre-season tour of South Korea and any offers for them will be listened to.
