Antonio Conte plots Tottenham transfer for £97m Chelsea star as third January deal done

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Thursday, January 27.

Antonio Conte has Romelu Lukaku plan

Spurs boss Antonio Conte is reportedly planning on making a move for Romelu Lukaku should his side be forced into selling Harry Kane.

The England captain’s future was up in the air throughout the summer as he courted interest from Manchester City but he ended up staying in north London.

Should he elect to still leave, Conte is apparently eyeing a replacement in the form of Chelsea’s Lukaku, with the pair having struck up an excellent relationship whilst at Inter Milan.

Jack Clarke seals loan move

Whilst Lukaku could potentially be on the way to north London at some point in the future, one man who has already departed is young winger Jack Clarke.

After making only one appearance so far this season, the 21-year-old has joined League One side Sunderland on-loan until the end of the campaign.

It is his fourth temporary spell away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since arriving from Leeds United in 2018.

Amrabat deal 'close'

On the incomings front, Spurs are apparently close to sealing their first arrival of the January transfer window.

According to reports, the north Londoners are closing in on a £12.5m for Fiorentina’s Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat just a year-and-a-half after his arrival in Italy from Club Brugge.
