Antonio Conte could be set to make a very important acquisition at Tottenham Hotspur this summer in Gianni Vio. football.london understands that the Lilywhites are in advanced talks with the specialist coach but a deal is not yet finalised nor is his arrival imminent.
The addition of Vio will be some coup for Conte and Spurs as the Italian is regarded extremely highly in the game following his work in his homeland with Palermo, Fiorentina and AC Milan to name a few clubs. Vio also played an integral role in Italy's success at Euro 2020 having been part of Roberto Mancini's backroom team, with the specialist coach reportedly designing 4,830 different set piece routines which the Azzurri could choose from at free-kicks and corners.
Tottenham have struggled from set pieces in recent seasons, notably conceding from ten set pieces in the Premier League last campaign and then only scoring from eight. It's perhaps no surprise to see why Conte wants Vio as part of his plans, especially when you take a look at what former Palmero boss Walter Zenga said about the specialist coach in the past.
