Antonio Conte and Romelu Lukaku suffer from the same problem after Chelsea beat Tottenham

Sunday's derby clash between Chelsea and Tottenham saw Antonio Conte and Romelu Lukaku reunited once again.

On this occasion, it was Lukaku who came out on top against his old boss - but neither of them were winners this weekend.

It's only been a few months since the duo ruled Italy with Inter Milan, but, it already feels like an eternity ago.

Conte sensationally quit the club after a row just three weeks after ending their agonising Scudetto drought. Lukaku followed him out the door soon after when the riches of Chelsea came calling.

How they must both be regretting that decision now.

For Lukaku, who looks destined to flop in England once again, there's currently a major sense of Deja Vu.

Join the debate! Who do you think made the biggest mistake in leaving Inter last summer - Conte or Lukaku? Let us know here.

The Belgian striker moved to Italy in a desperate bid to reignite his career after an uninspiring stint with Manchester United.

It was Inter, and Conte, who took the plunge and splashed out £74million to rescue Lukaku from his Old Trafford hell.

The switch paid dividends; Lukaku thrived under Conte. He played some of the best football of his career as he helped fire Inter back to the summit of Italian football.

After netting 24 goals during Inter's title-winning season, Lukaku was lured back to Stamford Bridge just weeks after Conte left the San Siro in an enormous £97.5m deal.

But the killer instinct in front of goal that Lukaku had rediscovered in Italy under this old boss has deserted him once again in England.

To put it kindly, Lukaku looks completely lost in the capital. He was totally ineffective during Sunday's showdown with Conte and currently looks a shadow of the player that the Blues smashed their record transfer fee to bring back to the club for a second spell.

Already, his mega-money return to the Premier League looks destined to end in tears.

And the man who helped rebuild Lukaku's reputation will be feeling just as exasperated right now following Sunday's chastening result at Stamford Bridge.

Like Lukaku, Conte rolled the dice to take the Spurs job. It was a gamble for him to return to England, but, ultimately, it was one he deemed worth taking.

Unfortunately for him, that's already beginning to look like a busted flush.

However, unlike Lukaku, Conte's powers haven't appeared to wane since his decision to leave Italy.

But, in a way, that's of little consolation as he's still not really any better off than his former striker right now.

Conte has improved Tottenham dramatically since he was lured to the club by Daniel Levy, but they still couldn't be any further away from challenging for domestic honours; something that Conte alluded to after they were blown away by Chelsea in the second half on Sunday.

The gulf between the two sides was ruthlessly exposed once again after the Blues turned on the style after the break to comfortably dispatch Spurs for the third time in a month.

Spurs are in need of major surgery if they are to revive their fortunes - but desperately needed transfer funds still haven't materialised and Tottenham are yet to make a signing this month.

It's hard to see Conte, a serial winner, sticking around if he isn't given the tools to properly tackle the monumental rebuilding job that's currently required in north London.

He is already looking increasingly frustrated and there are concerns that he could walk out on the club if things don't change - just as he did at Inter.

Conte's current predicament is a far cry from where has a few months ago. He was idolised by Inter fans at the San Siro after ending their 11-year Scudetto drought.

Both Conte and Lukaku must be wondering if they actually made a monumental mistake by walking out on the Italian giants last year.

Since losing their title-winning coach and star striker, ironically, Inter have gone from strength to strength.

They currently hold a four-point lead at the top of Serie A having played a game less than their nearest rivals, Napoli and AC Milan, under new manager Simone Inzaghi.

While it was Conte and Lukaku who chose to break up their blissful marriage in order to roll the dice and ditch Inter this summer, they've since had to watch on in envy as their former employers reap the rewards of the acrimonious break-up six months on.

No wonder both looked so glum at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
