Rangers have signed striker Antonio Colak in a £1.8 million three-year deal - with the option to add a fourth year - from Greek side PAOK as the Croatia international becomes the first summer window recruit for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The 28-year-old, who scored twice at Ibrox while on loan at Malmo to knock Gers out of the Champions League last season, recently emerged as a top target for the Light Blues and he has now penned a contract after leaving his club’s training camp in Holland to complete his medical after a fee was agreed.
Colak boosts Rangers’ attacking options as he joins fellow frontmen Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe and follows John Souttar, who signed a pre-contract agreement in January to move across the M8 from Hearts, in becoming the second new face to last season’s Scottish Cup-winning squad.
The three-times capped international admitted he was delighted to seal the deal and told the Rangers website: “I am really, really happy to sign for Rangers.
"I have played in front of those incredible fans already, and now I want to experience on my own what it is like to be a part of this huge club, to win titles and to achieve every target the club has.
"I want to be a part of this big family and I am really excited and can’t wait to get started.
Rangers manager, Gio van Bronckhorst, continued: “He is a very experienced player who has played at high levels and scored a lot of goals for the teams he has played for.
"We wanted to add some more players to our attacking options, and Colak is a player we welcome a lot and will give us a lot of strength up front."
And sporting director Ross Colak, added: “Welcome to Antonio, we are delighted to have him join our squad.
“I know how much Gio and the staff are looking forward to working with him on the pitch.”
