Michael Beale has revealed he did not hook Antonio Colak at half time against Dundee United for tactical reasons.
It comes after Rangers remained unbeaten under Michael Beale following Monday's 2-2 draw with rivals Celtic, as the Light Blues produced a second-half comeback to beat the Arabs 2-0 with goals from Fashion Sakala and Malik Tillman sealing three points.
The Croatian forward Colak was given the nod from the off but hooked at half time in what many assumed was a tactical change due to going in at the break goalless. But Beale has revealed that the 29-year-old, who has just returned from injury, is suffering from another knock but he admitted he is hopeful it won't rule the forward out for a long period.
He told BBC Sportsound: “Unfortunately, Antonio had to go off at half-time due to a knock so it was a forced change rather than one we wanted to make.
“It’s unfortunate for him but I’m hoping it’s not a long one. It’s a different injury just above his Achilles. He just can’t catch a break.
"It was nice to get Kemar come back. He was our top scorer when we won the league and he has been lost to us for a while now."
