Antonio Colak expresses Rangers Champions League hope after Ibrox draw with PSV

Antonio Colak scores against PSV

ANTONIO COLAK is confident Rangers can finish the job and clinch a Champions League berth despite being held by PSV Eindhoven at Ibrox.

The Croatian took his tally to four goals in four games as he pulled Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side level and cancelled out an opener from Ibrahim Sangare.

Rangers were on course to take a narrow lead into the return leg next week when keeper Walter Benitez blundered and allowed a Tom Lawrence free-kick to slip through his grasp.

But Armando Obispo had the final say at Ibrox as Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side grabbed a late equaliser to give themselves the upper hand in a tight and competitive tie.

Rangers will need to be at their best if they are to overcome PSV and progress to the group stages for the first time in more than a decade.

But Colak has backed the Light Blues to rise to the occasion and complete the job as they prepare for a daunting trip to the Philips Stadion next Wednesday night.

Colak said: “It was the perfect ball from Tav.

“I was there in the box and yeah, a one-touch finish. I’m happy to score and help the team.

“We just want to continue like that, the get the movements and the chances and I think we’ll make a good game in Eindhoven.

“How could I not [settle quickly] in front of these fans and with this team. It’s really nice to be here and I’m really happy.

“I just want to continue like that and to continue the hard work.

“It’s so nice to score goals, to celebrate and I just want to continue the hard work.

“In football, everything is possible.

“We have a good result. It’s 2-2, it’s a good result for next week. If we win we’re going through and this is always our target.

“We want to win every game and so it will be next week. We’ll go with confidence, the coaches will prepare us. We want to go through.”
