A group of anti-Israel protesters were captured on video breaking through a barricade set up on the campus of UC San Diego, resulting in arrests being made. Over 50 protesters were taken into custody early Monday at a pro-Palestinian encampment on the campus, as reported by sources.
Due to the police activity, UC San Diego's West Campus operations were suspended from North Torrey Pines Road to Interstate 5. The school announced on X that instruction would be moving to remote operation, with all West Campus facilities closed. However, Housing and Dining services remained open. The school advised that all events scheduled for the day on West Campus should be either canceled, rescheduled, or shifted to remote operation.
Footage from UC San Diego showed police facing off with protesters who had breached the barricade that had been set up.
