Anti-Israel Protesters Arrested At George Washington University

Anti-Israel protesters at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., projected various messages on a giant American flag on campus as they awaited the Metropolitan Police Department to dismantle their encampment. The messages included 'Long Live the Student Intifada,' a picture of President Biden with the words 'Genocide Joe,' an Arabic phrase with 'Revolution Until Victory' in English, and a message pointing out that the flag was hung incorrectly.

Posts on the DMV SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) Coalition X page depicted a crowd below the flag, some waving Palestinian flags. The scene unfolded as officers arrived around 3 a.m. local time to dismantle the encampment, which had been illegally set up on GWU's University Yard for over a week.

According to a source, at least 35 protesters were arrested by Wednesday morning, and eight students have been suspended in connection with the protest. The incident highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the activism it has sparked on college campuses.
