Milo Yiannopoulos, the British right-wing provocateur who has repeatedly demanded tougher immigration enforcement, has been detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement after overstaying his US visa. The 41-year-old was arrested at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana on 27 August and is now being held pending deportation.

Yiannopoulos spent years publicly advocating aggressive action against people living in the US without legal status. In 2025, he called for ICE checkpoints at supermarkets, petrol stations and other public locations, alongside the immediate deportation of anyone unable to prove they were legally in the country.
