Anthony Joshua may still yet accept the £15million offer to step aside of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk so that the Ukranian can face Tyson Fury in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles.
It was reported on Sunday evening that his decision would lead to a unification bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, with AJ then facing off against the winner.
The Telegraph reported that Joshua would accept the offer to forego his rematch for this to happen.
However, Joshua was quick to respond to the reports, when he urged fans not to listen to 'bulls***' - although he didn't deny he could make the decision.
Now, The Telegraph has doubled down on their reports, stating that a meeting will be held today with promoter Eddie Hearn - and potentially Joshua - with options being discussed.
Joshua told iFL TV on Monday: "You know what's bad about all these interviews I see? I see certain interviews that quote what I said, I think to myself, I ain't done no interviews. Where did this person get their information from?"
"I'm hearing people saying AJ accepts £15m to step aside. I ain't signed no contract, I ain't see no contract. So, as it stands, stop listening to the bulls*** unless it comes from me.
"I'm the man in control of my destiny, I'm the man that handles my business, I'm a smart individual and I make calculated decisions every step of the way.
"Don't listen to the bulls*** from other sources. If I tell you something, you know it's real."
After rubbishing the reports, Hearn has confirmed that there are plans to discuss 'a number of proposals and options' on Tuesday with the boxer.
He said: "I’m meeting with AJ and 258 management to go through plans for his next fight.
"We have a number of proposals and options to discuss. The goal remains the same of course – to re-capture the world heavyweight crown."
Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk has confirmed that they have been in talks with Fury's team for two months, whilst adding that Joshua 'gave his consent'.
He said: “We are in talks regarding Fury fight since November.
"And though AJ gave his consent, we still have not reached the final point in negotiations. And unless we get it AJ rematch remains the basic option for us."
Joshua's rematch with Usyk was expected to take place in March or April but continued delays in an announcement have raised questions.
The 32-year-old remains in training, and it appears we'll learn more on who his next opponent will be - Usyk or other - within the next few days.
