Anthony Gordon dedicates hat-trick to Everton coach and sends honest Isaac Price advice

Anthony Gordon dedicated his Everton hat-trick to Joe Edwards and hailed the performance of Isaac Price against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Frank Lampard’s side rounded off their mid-season trip to Australia with an emphatic 5-1 victory at the CommBank Stadium on Wednesday morning. The win came just days after the Blues beat Celtic on penalties.

Neal Maupay and Tom Cannon were on target for Everton, with Gordon also bagging a hat-trick. And speaking after the game, the winger admitted he had been working on his finishing with Blues coach Edwards.

He said: "I have been practising that particular finish for the third goal with Joe (Edwards) so I am really proud to see it come to light.

“It shows my dedication because I have missed that chance over and over again. I was tired towards the end of the game, already on two goals, I could have been satisfied but I wasn’t and it just shows that repetition in training has come to fruition, so I am really proud and big thanks to Joe as well.

“For me especially, this was a really good game to get a bit of momentum. I feel like I have been a bit out of form given my capabilities, so I think that was a big game for me.

“I’m not going to stop (over the break), I am not going to relax. I don’t think I’ve earned that."

Before he added: “It was a great performance, I think we need to take that confidence from how we came to play here into our Premier League games and if we do that, we will have a lot better performances."

Isaac Price once again stole the show for Everton as he continued where he let off at the weekend.

“In the two games he’s played, he has been excellent. Probably the man-of-the-match in the first game, and again excellent tonight,” Gordon told evertontv when asked about the youngster.

“He just needs to keep doing what he is doing, don’t change anything, keep working hard, carry on with those performances and he will do really well.”
