The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Sacramento Kings Friday night in their final preseason game, and it will be an opportunity for one last tuneup before the start of the regular season.
Anthony Davis has looked strong and motivated in the exhibition season. He had 11 rebounds in 16 minutes during the team’s first preseason game last Monday, plus 28 points in 21 minutes on Sunday and 19 points and 13 rebounds in 27 minutes on Wednesday.
However, he has missed two of Los Angeles’ exhibition contests due to lower back tightness, which has caused some concern for Lakers fans.
Davis will not suit up Friday night because of that ailment.

When Davis previously missed two preseason games because of this back ailment, some Lakers fans believed he was being a malingerer and was merely finding an excuse to not play.
It remains to be seen whether tonight’s absence is because his lower back tightness is truly concerning or if it is more precautionary.
