Ant & Dec announce dramatic update to I'm A Celebrity... South Africa camp

A first look at Wednesday’s, May 3, episode of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa has teased that the campmates will receive shocking news from hosts Ant & Dec. The presenting duo, who have hosted the ITV show since it began in 2002, will arrive in camp to tell the group that a change is coming.

Upcoming scenes will see the camp split into two with the celebrities no longer working as a group. They will now be split into two ‘Prides’ and go head-to-head to win food.

New arrivals Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney will be the leaders of each Pride and must take turns to pick the campmates they want. Joe is set to go first after winning a coin toss.

The two Prides will first do battle in a snakes and ladders-themed Trial. They will be battling it out to win a picnic by the waterfall.

Amir Khan has now left the show (ITV)

The camp’s split comes following the exit of the show's third campmate. Boxer Amir Khan’s time on the show came to an end during Tuesday’s, May 2 episode.

Following his exit from camp Amir said: “It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It’s like I got to be with a new family in South Africa. I’m always going to compare it with my first time in Australia but this one, for me, was way better. Great camp, the campmates were amazing. Even though I would have loved to have stayed a little bit longer, sometimes what can happen is, if you stay longer, you can outstay your welcome. It was just a great experience and I’m just glad I had the opportunity.”
