Ant and Dec demanded proof of the answer, after sending viewers into a frenzy when they asked a question about the humble potato waffle on the latest episode of Limitless Win.
After a celebrity special, attracted millions of viewers on Christmas Day, more members of the public were back in the Limitless Win this weekend, with married couple Hannah and Matt first up to try and climb the programme's limitless money ladder. Their early questions were focused on everything from hit Netflix series Stranger Things to world flags and the solar system.
And, it wasn't before long that the question about popular snack and childhood tea time favourite, the potato waffle, reared its head. One of the lifelines available to Hannah and Matt being 'Take Two,' where the computer accepts one answer from them and one from Ant and Dec, with Ant quipping: "Don't worry, Dec's been revising all week," as Dec replied: "If y revising, you mean Tipping Point and, by all week, you mean this afternoon, then I have been."
The exact question about Bird's Eye potato waffles was 'how many holes' are in them and, as soon as Ant and Dec asked it, Twitter was awash with guesses and tweets about what lengths ITV viewers at home were going to get to answer. One tweeted: "Running to the freezer to check how many holes a potato waffle has. This after watching singing jelly fish. What has happened to Saturday nights. God I need a life."
Another responded: "Watching limitless win on @ITV and me mams just ran to the freezer to check how many holes are in a potato waffle legged it to the living room to show me and my Dad! “It’s TWENTY” Mam, just google it ya lunatic! Dead" with a third writing: "It has just got very heated here over how many holes are in a Birds Eye potato waffle"
The answer was indeed 20, prompting Dec to shout: "We need to see this!" with a giant CGI version appearing above Ant and Dec after they demanded proof.
Reacting to that moment, another viewer tweeted: "I think Ant and Dec on Limitless Win saying "Show us a waffle immediately" followed by a giant CGI potato waffle descending into the studio over their heads like a God might be an early candidate for most surreal quiz show moment of the year.
