Ant and Dec halt Saturday Night Takeaway finale preparations in Florida to see Newcastle win

Ant and Dec downed tools during their preparations for Saturday Night Takeaway's huge finale in Florida to see their beloved Newcastle United thrash West Ham on Wednesday.

The Geordie hosts couldn't hide their excitement at the start of Takeaway's new series that they would be staging an overseas finale for their ITV show for the first time since 2018, with them confirming that the event would once again take place at the world famous Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando.

Over the last month or so, Ant and Dec have been surprising viewers by giving them a Place on the Plane to Florida, meaning there will be a large and very excited crowd ready to watch them end the new series in style on Saturday.

Ant and Dec arrived in the US at the start of the week but called a temporary halt to Takeaway finale prep on Wednesday as Newcastle headed to London to take on West Ham.

With a four hour time difference between the UK and Florida, the lads settled down to watch the match at 4pm their time and would have been glad they did as Newcastle cruised past their opponents to win 5-1.

Revealing they were tuning into the game from the US of A, Ant and Dec took Twitter and In stasgram to share a photo of themselves along with the caption: "Taking a break from rollercoasters to watch the toon! HOWAY THE LADS"

The post got a big reaction from their followers, particularly fellow NUFC supporters, with one responding: "I know I cannot believe it the Magpies trounced West Ham!!!! GET IN THERE!"

It took just six minutes for Callum Wilson to find the net for the Magpies, before Joelinton doubled their lead seven minutes later. West Ham pulled one back before half time, but then any n erves were put to bed as Wilson again found the net.

Alexander Isak made it 4-1 in the 82nd minute, before Joelinton got his own brace on the cusp of full time.
