More than 2,000 guests have been invited to witness the historic moment - and there are many famous names sat in the pews.

The service is due to start at 11am after King Charles and Queen Camila travel from Buckingham Palace in The King’s Procession in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach.

It will be a momentous occasion for Brits, the majority of whom have never witnessed a new monarch take to the throne until now.

The last coronation in the UK occurred 70 years ago in 1953 when Queen Elizabeth was crowned at the age of 27 following the death of her father.

Thousands of people are expected to line the procession route to catch a glimpse of the royal family as they make their way through central London.

After the service and the procession, the King and Queen will appear alongside other members of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony, where they will watch the RAF flypast and wave to the crowds who have turned up to see them.

Millions of people are expected to tune in to watch the celebrations on television, while big screens have also been put up across Greater Manchester and the rest of the UK so people can watch the proceedings together. Thousands of street parties will also be put on across Saturday, Sunday and Monday to mark the special occasion.
