Ant and Dec appear on red carpet after Ant gets emotional on Britain's Got Talent stage

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly made a suave appearance on the red carpet after Ant got emotional during the Britain's Got Talent auditions.

The comedy duo looked flight-ready as they showed up for pictures following the filming of the auditions.

Ant and Dec, both 46, were dressed as fighter pilots in their boiler suits and black boots as they graced the carpet.

The two seemed to be deep in conversation as they looked intensely at each other.

In another snap, the two seemed to be racing each other down the rep carpet.

It comes after Ant was feeling extremely emotional amid his return to the talent competition - which was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 46-year-old host explained how he and co-star Dec were over the moon to be back and with an audience for the first time in two years.

Not only did they cancel the show in 2021, but the live semi-finals and final had to be delayed in 2020 due to restrictions.

It ended up happening in the autumn instead and involved a remote studio audience.

Addressing the audience, Ant said: "Excuse me while I go and cry. We are so excited to be back. We were gutted to miss last year and not get to see you all. But we’re back, raring to go and have one hell of a show for you."

Meanwhile, the other Britain’s Got Talent stars couldn't hide their happiness at finally being back on the show.

It seemed like the cast have been waiting to make friendly digs at each other as David Walliams brought up Simon Cowell's engagement to Lauren Silverman.

After one act incorporated their engagement into a London Palladium audition on Sunday, David joked: “It was good you brought it up to date with the engagement. I mean, they only had a kid seven years ago. He took his time.”

Having none of it, Simon hit back with “hopefully mine will last longer than yours, David”, in reference to his fellow judge’s five-year marriage to supermodel Lara Stone.

Meanwhile, the judges - including Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - admitted they were all feeling emotional about the return of the long-running show.
