Ant and Dec have owned up to what they are calling a 'not so deliberate mistake,' during Sunday's I'm A Celebrity as fans branded its launch show 'one of the best ever.'
After three years away from Australia, the Geordie hosts looked absolutely delighted to be back in the jungle, as they broadcast live to millions of expectant viewers back in the UK. After an I'm A Celebrity special of The Masked Singer, which was won by 2020 finalist Vernon Kay., the new series of the much loved ITV show kicked off with a feature length 105 minute episode, as viewers got their first look at a line-up which includes Boy George, Owen Warner and Jill Scott.
Other stars in action in the series opener included Olivia Attwood, Chris Moyles and Mike Tindall, while there was a bit of an awkward moment for Scarlette Douglas, when Owen had no clue who she was. It took just a few moments of the show starting for Ant and Dec to confirm late arrivals will soon be going in, with the hosts dropping a massive hint that Matt Hancock will be going in.
Ant and Dec were tweeting a lot during the show, reacting to some of the key moments on screen, including Owen being clueless on Scarlett's identity and Babatunde Aleshe shouting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' before he'd even entered the jungle. Another tweet posted aby Ant and Dec before credits rolled on Sunday's show was of them standing in front of two clocks, showing the times in Australia and the UK.
There was one small issue though, whoever had the job of setting the clock for the UK got the time difference wrong as it showed 9.10pm, rather than 8.10pm. IT didn't take long for eagle-eyed viewers to notice the error, with one responding "Someone on production obviously forgot to put the London clock back an hour last weekend," and another commenting: "Hang on, is London in a different time zone to the rest of the UK?"
After seeing the comments, Ant and Dec returned to the same post and added: "Oops!! Spot the not so deliberate mistake."
While people were quick to pick up on the unfortunate but funny slipup, the overwhelming reaction on Twitter was one of massive excitement for I'm A cEleb being back Down Under., with one delighted viewer tweeting: "The best opening episode of #ImACeleb in years. Fantastic cast, great trial on the top of the building and some FABULOUS outfits!!
Equally impressed,. a second reacted: "...the introduction to #ImACelebrity 2022 has been excellent thus far and this could be one of the best series of the show going forward this year as there is already great personalities in it."
