Another late collapse to the Golden State Warriors – why does Boston do this?

The Boston Celtics faced off against the Golden State Warriors in a thrilling late-night encounter this past Tuesday evening that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Unfortunately for Celtics fans who stayed up for the first game of the Celtics’ annual West Coast swing witnessed a familiar collapse vs. the Dubs in overtime, prolonging the pain.

An early injury to star Boston forward Jayson Tatum presaged the collapse, and familiar tendencies towards isolation basketball and letting the Warriors speed them up in halfcourt play allowed the Dubs to take control in the game’s final frame to win it in extra time.

There were some bright spots in the loss, with both Derrick White and Jaylen Brown having good games and two way big man Neemias Queta logging a double-double for the Celtics off the bench.

But if you want to commiserate post-loss regardless of when you watched the game, the folks behind the CLNS Media “First to the Floor” podcast are there for you in the clip embedded above.
