MUMBAI: The honour of playing in a final comes with heavy baggage. Getting too pumped up can lead to overdoing things. On the other hand, the extra pressure can lead to timidness. In Akshay Wadkar, Vidarbha have the right man to guide the team in the Ranji Trophy final.
The wicketkeeper-batter knows a thing or two about handling the pressure of the final. After all, he scored a ton in his first Ranji summit clash in 2017-18 season. "There is no pressure on us. Of course, playing in the Ranji Trophy final is always special. Playing against 41-time champions is an honour. It's another chance for us to beat a big team," Wadkar said on Saturday, a day before the final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
