Anneka Rice has revealed she hires out her famous jumpsuits for hen parties.
The Treasure Hunt and Challenge Anneka star says she has “still got them all” at home.
She said: “I’ve got, literally, a shrine to the jumpsuits. I’ve got about 50 of them I guess. I lend them out to people for hen nights.”
The Welsh presenter wore a variety of different coloured jumpsuits, first on Channel 4 ’s Treasure Hunt from 1982 to 1989, then on BBC1’s Challenge Anneka from 1989 to 1995. She said interest in her outfits is off the charts.
She added: “People run round Brighton in my jumpsuits. They just get in touch by Instagram or Twitter.
“And I go: ‘Yeah, whatever, have it, wash it afterwards, thank you’.
“They do treasure hunts, they do challenges in the Peak District. It’s an industry. They’ve got a new life.”
The 64-year-old was speaking at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Channel 5 brought Challenge Anneka back this year, airing two episodes in March and one in May.
Mum-of-three Anneka was full of praise for Channel 5, saying: “They wanted it exactly as it was.
“Apart from satnav, and our production team being able to access people online, rather than through Yellow Pages, viewers will find it similar. People still use paintbrushes and you still have to wait for plaster to dry.”
