Anneka Rice is making a return to screens after almost 30 years. The TV presenter confirmed that Channel 5 is working on a reboot of her programme Challenge Anneka.
Challenge Anneka originally aired on the BBC from 1989 to 1995 and was a huge hit for viewers.
A one-off special of the show was aired in 2006, but now it will be returning for a brand new series. The four-part series will see the 63-year-old presenter tackle a variety of challenges for charitable causes alongside her team of volunteers.
As she prepares for her TV comeback, here’s everything we know about Anneka’s family life.
Has Anneka Rice ever been married?
Anneka used to be married to theatre producer Nick Allott. The couple tied the knot in 1988 but they split in 1992 after Anneka was reported to have had an affair with TV executive Tom Gutteridge.
Despite their split, the pair didn’t get divorced until 22 years later in 2014.
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the time, Anneka said: "Everyone thinks we’re divorced, but we’re not. It’s no big deal interviewing him because we’re friends."
And in a separate interview with the Telegraph she explained their reason for not getting divorced, she said: “We will get around to divorcing.
“Most people get divorced because they are always arguing about money.
“When Nick and I split up, I was the breadwinner; I was paying the school fees. He had a good job so money was never discussed, therefore what is there to argue about?"
Does Anneka Rice have children?
Anneka Rice has two children with ex-husband Nick Allott.
They welcomed their first son Thomas the same year that they married in 1988 and a year later they had their second son Josh.
Anneka also had a third son during her relationship with Tom Gutteridge.
The pair were together for several years, but split six months after she gave birth to their son Sam in 1997.
