Annan Athletic will face Scottish Premiership champions Rangers in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.
The Galabankies booked their place after a dramatic seven goal thriller against West of Scotland side Clydebank on Saturday afternoon.
The tie finished 2-2 after 90 minutes before Clydebank took the lead but two goals in the final four minutes of extra time were enough for Annan to progress to the last 16 for only their second time.
Manager Peter Murphy said: “That’s what the Scottish Cup is all about, I’m in a little bit of a daze.
“I have never seen a finish like that before. That is the magic of the cup and I’m delighted to be in the next round but I do feel sorry for Clydebank.
“But to see the number of fans we brought today and our players and staff all celebrating was brilliant.”
The result then set up a draw with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side for the weekend of February 12. Television games are yet to be confirmed but it is possible Galabank could be in the spotlight.
However, the manager isn’t getting too far ahead of himself.
He said after the game: “Our concentration needs to be on the league and not to get distracted by this. I’ll let the players enjoy their Saturday night and that’s it back to league business.”
Substitute Iain Anderson was the hero with his winner in the 123rd minute to break Clydebank hearts.
Murphy added: “I think it was a case where fitness told.
“The subs we sent on made a difference and Rob got the goal to make it 3-3 and we think we’re going to penalties. But then Iain pops up with the goal. It’s what dreams are made of and I’m delighted for them both.”
With more than four and a half years in the job, Murphy is Scottish football’s fourth longest-serving manager and put the weekend up there in his time at Galabank.
He said: “It’s the best run I’ve had as Annan manager.
“I’m delighted for the players as a group. It’s a squad game and not just the 11 who are on the park and that showed against Clydebank with the substitutes making such an impact. I’m delighted for the club. It’s the second time we’ve made it through to the last 16. The dreams of the cup run.”
