Annan are to take on Carlisle United tonight in front of a bumper crowd at Galabank.
Tickets for the pre-season friendly have been selling steadily for the encounter with the English League One side and Annan boss Peter Murphy reckons there will be a huge turnout from his old club’s supporters following their play off promotion.
Galabank officials revealed more than 400 tickets had been sold to the English side in the first few days since the game was fixed up.
He said: “It’s Carlisle’s first game, their first pre-season friendly and exciting for their fans after promotion.
“It will be brilliant for our fans to see our new signings after promotion and also to see former player Owen Moxon now at Carlisle to see how he is doing and give him an ovation for what he did for our club over the years.
“So it should be a good night, a good crowd and a good performance.”
Murphy added: “ “Some of the trialists will feature again in Friday’s game and we will have another look at them against Carlisle.
“It should be a tough game and stand us in good stead for the League Cup games coming up against Kilmarnock and Dunfermline in the coming weeks.
“As did the Morton game on Tuesday night despite the 1-0 defeat.
“It was a hard game and there were a lot of positives apart from the huge disappointment with the bad injury to Michael Doyle.
“It was obviously the right decision to call the game off after the players saw how bad the injury was to him. He will be out for a long time.
Kick off is at 7.45pm.
