Annan boss Peter Murphy is thirsting for a win over Stranraer tomorrow to maintain their play-off bid.
And he boosted his squad by luring defender Scott Hooper back to the club on loan after facing him at Kelty Hearts last weekend.
Murphy said: “We have managed to get Scott on loan from Kelty until the end of the season and it is a boost for the squad.
“And hopefully they will all get a lift from this for the game with Stranraer.
“Stranraer seem to be getting a lot of players back from injury in time for the run-in to the season.
“Stranraer have also managed to get a few results although their form has been a bit mixed and their manager, Jamie Hamill, will be very disappointed not to get more wins.
“They drew 0-0 with Albion Rovers at home last week and will be coming to Galabank keen to get a win.
“Jamie has quite a young squad and you do get inconsistency with young players, but they like to play football and it should be a good game for the fans.”
Meanwhile, Hooper told of his delight at returning to Annan.
The 27-year-old player is a well known face at Galabank having previously spent two years at the club and was part of the squad which reached the play-off finals in 2019.
The defender also picked up two player of the year awards in his last spell with the Black and Golds.
Hooper said: “I’m delighted and very thankful to be back at Annan, it’s a great club with good ambitions.”
“Come the end of the season I hope we will go one further than the last time I was here and get promoted to League One.
“Personally I hope I can get regular game time and finish the season strongly.”
Annan racked up a fine 4-1 league win at Albion Rovers on Wednesday with goals from Tony Wallace, Aidan Smith, Owen Moxon and Iain Anderson.
