Annan boss Peter Murphy is demanding a win against Elgin tomorrow from his players ... or face a miserable long trek home.
The away day up north will be a daunting task for the Galabankies following their 2-0 home loss last week to basement side Forfar despite dominating proceedings.
Murphy dismissed the defeat as a blip and said: “We move on and it is now about Elgin City away.
“They have beaten us twice before and are a good team, but we want to go up there and show what we can do and how we can perform as we have done recently.
“We played well against Forfar, had a goal ruled out for offside which was tight, had a penalty missed by Aidan Smith, hit the post through Tommy Goss. Their keeper was excellent and should have been man of the match. He really had some unbelievable saves.
“So I would be more concerned right now if we were not creating goal scoring opportunities and playing poorly and losing.”
Murphy added about the transfer window: “I am in no rush because as you can see the players are doing well.
“However, it is always good to add to your squad at this time of year.
“But once these teams are finished their business then there will be players available, so we will wait and see what happens then.”
