Miss Northern Ireland 2021 has put her name firmly in the history books as she finished within the top 6 at the Miss World beauty pageant - the furthest a Miss NI has ever placed in the history of the competition.
Anna Leitch, a school teacher from Cookstown, was crowned Miss Northern Ireland in September 2021 after deciding to apply because she felt it was her time to take to the stage after being a fan of the beauty competition for many years.
The 27-year-old jetted off to represent NI at the monumental 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December however, due to the Covid pandemic, the final had to be postponed until March.

After placing in the top 40, Anna was invited back to compete once again for the crown and her charisma, smile and passion for life landed her in the top 6.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Anna said: "I can’t believe that I am the first contestant from NI to make history having made the top 6 at Miss World.
"I had such an incredible experience at the Miss World final. The atmosphere was electric walking on the global stage representing Northern Ireland. To be crowned the continental queen - Miss World Europe was the cherry on top.
"I am so delighted that I had the privilege to partake in Miss World and who knows what journey this new title may take me on."
She added: "I am very excited. None of this would be possible without the help of my sponsors back home and most importantly, Victoria at ACA models.
"She has shown me the most incredible support, kindness, love and encouragement throughout my whole journey ever since I was crowned Miss NI back in September. All I can say is for now…Watch this space!"
Taking to social media to congratulate Anna, the Miss Northern Ireland competition said: "Miss Northern Ireland Anna Leitch making history.
"We simply don't have the words to put into one post to describe the pride we have as a country watching you on stage last night in Puerto Rico.
"You were elegant, spoke passionately and looked like you were having the time of your life!
"This is an experience only a handful of women from across the world will be a part of and I know you will cherish those moments forever."
Heats for Miss Northern Ireland 2022 are currently underway as the search for the next person to follow in Anna's footsteps continues.
