Anna Faris suffers from mom guilt, but why?

Anna Faris has suffered from mom guilt

Anna Faris thinks there's "a lot of competition" among moms in Los Angeles.

The 49-year-old actress - who has son Jack, 14, with ex-husband Chris Pratt - has revealed that she's suffered mom guilt for years.

The Hollywood star - who was married to Chris between 2009 and 2018 - told E! News: "I already had a healthy dose [of mom guilt]. Like, a blanket of guilt. I’m doing something wrong all the time."

Anna then explained that moms in Los Angeles always face lots of pressure.

She said: "I think becoming a mom, especially in Los Angeles, it’s hard to feel like you’re doing everything right. There’s a lot of competition."

Anna recalled struggling with her own identity shortly after giving birth to Jack.

The actress shared: "What did it mean to go from actress — comedic actress, spoof movie queen. To the identity of mom. Being worried with what that means. I wish that future generations don’t have that same burden of identity. Of perfection, the pressure. We’re all really flawed."

Anna stars in the new comedy movie Spa Weekend alongside Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, and Michelle Buteau. And she hopes "multiple groups of women" will go to watch the movie together.

She said: "What I hope for this movie, I hope multiple groups of women or people are inspired to have a super fun lunch on a Saturday. Like a late lunch. Plan a spa weekend getaway that they can manage to do in like, five years and then go see our movie."

Meanwhile, Anna previously described the Spa Weekend shoot as a "dream".

The actress told Extra: "We had the opportunity to shoot this movie in Australia on the Gold Coast. It was like 82 degrees every day. We're shooting by the ocean."

Anna particularly enjoyed the experience of working with the film's star-studded cast.

The actress - who is best known for playing Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie film franchise - said: "I’m working with women that I find hysterical and that I love.

"I finally got to make and nurture new friendships … It was through work that I got to know and admire and love these women every day."
