Ann Widdecombe’s family confirm plans for funeral and memorial

  • Ann Widdecombe, the 78-year-old Reform UK spokeswoman and former Tory minister, was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on 9 July.
  • Joshua Kerry, 28, from Rotherham, has been charged with her murder and appeared in court.
  • Her family announced that a private service for close relatives and friends will be held, with a public memorial to follow later in the year.
  • “While we are very grateful for the wide expression of condolences, the family would ask that this initial service is limited to those closest to Ann,” they said.
  • Detectives are continuing to investigate any potential political or terrorist motivation behind the attack.
